Really simple satay sauce recipe my dad taught me. Putting it here for future reference. It’s really nice for gado-gado or just generally over rice and satay.
Ingredients:
- Peanuts (or other nuts)
- Peanut butter
- Garlic
- Chili pepper
- Coconut sugar/brown sugar
- Salt
- Turmeric
Rough steps:
- Blend peanuts.
- Blend in extra chili pepper, garlic, and turmeric.
- Add peanut butter and some water to make it more fluidlike. Don’t add too much!
- Add sugar and salt to taste.
Optionally you can bake the peanuts and garlic in some oil, but that takes extra time.
