Really simple satay sauce recipe my dad taught me. Putting it here for future reference. It’s really nice for gado-gado or just generally over rice and satay.


Ingredients:

  • Peanuts (or other nuts)
  • Peanut butter
  • Garlic
  • Chili pepper
  • Coconut sugar/brown sugar
  • Salt
  • Turmeric

Rough steps:

  1. Blend peanuts.
  2. Blend in extra chili pepper, garlic, and turmeric.
  3. Add peanut butter and some water to make it more fluidlike. Don’t add too much!
  4. Add sugar and salt to taste.

Optionally you can bake the peanuts and garlic in some oil, but that takes extra time.
